What's New with Triangle Multisport?

4th PLACE AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Stacey Richardson finished in an outstanding 4th place in a very tough and close battle at the Olympic distance World Championships in Switzerland.  She was the second fastest american woman overall!  Now that's the way to peak!!

Derek Bunton takes SIX MINUTES off of his half marathon PR at the Colonial half marathon

Cid Guy completed the NC Cyclocross Winter Series with a third overall.  Congratulations on a fantastic first season!

Karla Moore not only completed the Philadelphia marathon on the first try, but qualified for the Boston marathon in the process!  Karla had a fantastic race to finish off an incredible year.

Tracy Parham successfully completes her first half ironman at the miamiman
half finishing well under her goal time.  Tracy has come a long way in a short time!  Congrats.

Naomi Newman - Naomi is another true inspiration.  Not that long ago I don't think she would have believed it if you told her that she'd complete a marathon.  But guess what - she did, and did it very well.  After months of training and many lost pounds, Naomi brought home a finishers medal from the New York City marathon that she can proudly display forever!

Ed Broughton had an outstanding race at the Battleship half marathon to put a stamp on his season and head into next year with confidence!  He's going to be fun to watch.

Bill Symonds - After a great triathlon season, Bill breaks into new territory competing on a relay at the Dance With the Devil 12 hour Mountain Bike race.  He spent 4 1/2 hours on the tough single track!

Coach Dave and Monette - Both compete well in the Olympic distance world championships in Honolulu.  Dave led his age-group out of the water by about 20 seconds!

David Hardy - Successfully finishes his first ever Iron distance event in fine fashion.  David fought through some GI issues to finish strong at the Chesapeakeman Triathlon.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Derek Bunton had an extremely strong day at the difficult Ironman Wisconsin triathlon.  On a day that had one of the highest drop-out rates for an ironman event, Derek negative splits the run!  You can't get much better than that.

Will McDaniel finishes his season with a bang!  Will had a fantastic triathlon season, but capped the year by breaking the age-group record at the Lowes speedway time trial - Way to go!

Coach Suzie Hosman - WINS the Masters Elite title for the NCTS!!

Triangle Multisport athlete Bill Holmes making us proud in Iraq.  Bill's weekly updates send chills down my spine!

Suzie Talley Moore continues to have a fine season with a nice finish at the SC half ironman

Stacey Richardson finishes the season with a STRONG win at the Wilmington YMCA triathlon

Bruce Seelinger started this season without being able to swim a length of the pool and winds up WINNING his age-group in a couple of races.  Amazing work, Bruce.

Dennis Pike set goals for this year to lose some weight and complete a couple sprint triathlons.  He wound up placing highly in several races before completing the Duke 1/2 Ironman!  Oh yeah, and he lost even more weight than he set as his goal.

Sherri Moore - Follows in her mother's footsteps as she makes a nice move into the triathlon world.  Sherri WON her age group in her first two races and would have probably been 3 for 3 had it not been for a wrong turn.  She's going to be fun to watch!

Nicole Donnelly - one of our youngest running clinic participants, runs in her first meet.  Nicole is going to be another one who's progress is going to be fun to track.

Nelson Figueroa and Jason Greengrass both cap strong seasons with great races at the Duke 1/2 Ironman.  Nelson had made incredible strides and Jason took about another 15 minutes off of his time from last year!

Paul Franklin also finishes strong at the Duke 1/2 ironman and will race with a friend at the Marine Corps Marathon.

Kristen Beck shows her talent by finishing her only triathlon of the year with a thee minute improvement over last year's time at the Wilmington YMCA triathlon

Brandi Choplin finishes off an incredible year at the Duke 1/2 ironman.

NATIONAL CHAMPION

Duncan Hoge is back on top - winning the Junior (16-19) National Championship in commanding fashion.  The win also qualified Duncan the chance to compete in the World Championships to be held in Japan later in the year.  Way to go Duncan!

Will McDaniel recently finished a very strong 8th overall and 2nd in his age-group at the Xterra Triathlon in Florida - Very good race.

Stacey Richardson - First-time ironman finisher!!  Stacey was very strong the entire day before getting a little sick toward the end of the run but still finished with an outstanding 12:17 to finish in the top 20 in her age group at Ironman USA Lake Placid.  CONGRATULATIONS
